After being shortlisted back in May, we’re pleased to announce that Auka came runner-up and were awarded ‘Highly Commended’ within the Top PayTech Innovation category of the PayTech Awards 2018.
The awards were held in London on Friday 13th July aboard a luxurious Silver Sturgeon yacht on The Thames.
The category winner was PromptPay by Vocalink, which facilitates real-time payments in Thailand. A funny coincidence, as the day these awards were announced Auka was busy hosting a group of bankers from Thailand. We were presenting a case study on cashless societies in the Nordics as this is the ambition of the Thai government. PromptPay was mentioned during the presentation as being one of the tools used in the navigation toward this eventuality.
