Our awesome head of finance, Ida, is going on maternity leave ♥ To help fill the gap, Hanne Kristensen has joined as the head of accounting at Auka.
What were you doing immediately before you joined Auka?
Nothing 🙂 I had some time off after I left my last job as Chief Accountant at Unilabs in November.
Career highlight to date?
When I got the acceptance from Finanstilsynet as an Authorised Accountant in August 2002 after four years part time education :-D.
I also loved to work as Head of Accountancy at Mercuri Urval and have been able to implement a lot clean up (as I love to do) and made new processes for the accounting departments in the companies I have worked for.
One thing you wish you could tell yourself when you were 18?
Go for your dreams, believe in yourself and don’t be so damned afraid to do something wrong 🙂
What advice do you have for others wanting to be a Head of Accountancy?
Get good practice in a great company during your education to know more about accounting and finance when you finish at school. It will be a big advantage.
What are you most excited about in your new role?
Auka as a really interesting company and the energy at the office is fantastic. The first few weeks have been exciting and fun. I believe that Auka will grow a lot as a business with all of the good energy.
What’s your best “local” tip for newcomers to Oslo?
Visit the islands and the forest. Have a walk on Havnepromenaden (I love to be nearby the sea or on the sea). Visit SALT (cafe/pub, sauna, events). Go to Bruket at Grønland for food, drinks and some culture.
Your burning ambitions:
To help others grow and contribute what I can to create better days for others and myself 🙂
What can others learn from you?
To be more efficient and to create good accounting processes (travel expenses, invoices, accounting).
Two sentences to describe yourself:
I am curious and like learning new things.
I like being helpful.
